Microsoft announced the Launch date for Office 2016
Microsoft has announced the launch date for the long predicted new version of Microsoft office. Office 2016 will be roughly available on 22 September. The customers who are already using Office with volume licensing agreement will be able download the software on October 1.
Many key updates are coming with this update. It also includes the features that was already available for online Office users, you will be able to co-edit the documents. It means multiple desktop users will be able to work on documents at the same time and see all the updates in real time.
Microsoft is currently working on creating “the intelligent cloud platform” as announced by the CEO Satya Nadella that investing in creating the cloud platform is one of the three key investment strategies of Microsoft. So obviously the process of syncing of the documents from the desktop to the cloud will be way easier that it was before.
Microsoft also noted a few new options for I.T and businesses looking to deploy the software. The Office 365 ProPlus customers who are paying the subscription version of Office for companies will also receive the “Current Branch”. The most up-to-date feature and security update will be available on 22 September, the release will also include the New office 2016 app updates.
It should be noted that Microsoft Office 16 is out for the Mac users since July, though it has hereabouts been bind to an Office 365 subscription. The company also announced at the time that the stayed line version of the software will be available for purchase in September. So the recent announcement does not refer to the Mac specifically. It would be good to assume that the new version of Office will be out on 22 September.
Also the new of September Office 16 launch follows that there will be new features in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook And Translator. All are designed to work with Apple’s new iPad Pro, new mobile iOS 9 and the watch software of Apple (Watch OS2). Company is working on making the Office compatible with the new devices like Apple Pencil, slide over and any other devices.
