It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware. Gamescom is considered the world’s largest gaming event, with 335,000 visitors, more than 6,000 journalists and 700 exhibitors from 88 countries attending the show.
This year the grand event was held between Aug 5 and Aug 9, which marks the seventh edition of the European gaming event.

GAMESCOM 2015 :This Year In Gaming

Like every year, this year’s Gamescom brought us a tremendous amount of exciting new trailers for some of the biggest upcoming games. There are the obvious AAA titles like Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate and Fallout 4, but then there are games that came out of the blue and surprised us all like The Mafia III.
Through personal preference and overall public popularity I have compiled a list of the best game trailers that this year’s Gamescom had to offer.

List of the best game trailers

Quantum Break

The long-awaited XBOX One exclusive that was teased with the launch of the console itself, is finally coming close to its release.
Trailers and Gameplays of this title have been seen before in other gaming events, but Remedy games have prepared an exclusive trailer for Gamescom, the footage focuses more on the story rather than gameplay. A lot is anticipated from this game, looking at the track record of Remedy Games (Max Payne is one of the more popular product of Remedy games).

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst

In this Mirror’s Edge Catalyst gameplay trailer, experience the moment where Faith begins her rise from a carefree runner to the hero the city needs. Playing in first person allows players to feel her fluid movement, combat and power. This trailer features pre-alpha footage from the game.
Fans of the Mirror’s Edge series would definetly love to see this new addition to the roster.

Scalebound

Scalebound is a new and exclusive IP for the XBOX one console, the game showcases a fantasy world filled with fearsome creatures and magical powers. We are introduced to the protagonist of the game who has a special set of powers, and a dragon for a companion, the game offers a free roam open world experience where you can engage in combat with other creatures for progressing in the story. So far the game looks promising and the dragon assisted combat looks fun to play.

Dark Souls III

The dark souls series is one which is recognized by the average gamer as extremely difficult and filled with over the top gore. It is also becoming one of the most appreciated gaming title year by year with its genre defining combat techniques and improving graphics. Last year we saw the company going through a different route with their PS4 exclusive title Bloodborne, but now they are back on track with the third extension to their most popular and anticipated series that is Dark Souls.

Star Wars Battlefront

If you like EA’s Battlefield series or the ever so popular Star Wars movie series, then this game is definitely for you. The game offers vehicles and weapons from the Star Wars universe (yes, including the beloved Lightsaber), and your favourite characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
The gameplay features team based first person shooter combat with numerous multiplayer game modes as well as a single player campaign storyline to keep you entertained.

Mafia III

The big daddy of all reveals at Gamescom 2015. No one was anticipating a third installment in the Mafia series and the trailer caught everyone by surprise. If you are familiar with the Mafia Games series then you would be on par with the excitement that this trailer offers. Although this is just a teaser of the story line of the upcoming game, it was enough to create hype in the gaming industry. As of now the story does not seem to be connected with the first two games, as we are introduced with an unfamiliar protagonist. The Mafia games have always been known to appeal to all kinds of gamers, here’s hoping that this game is no exception.
