Let’s Encrypt published 1 million free Transport Layer Security SSL Certificates to webmasters who want to secure their connection between their users and domains and has achieved a vast milestone.
It is a free and open source certificates authority identified by all extensive browsers like Google’s Chrome,Mozilla’s Firefox and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.Let’s Encrypt is conducted by Internet Security Research Group.
Let’s Encrypt released a Beta version
It released a Beta version of the service just three month and five days before and according to the Let’s Encrypt,group has cut across 1 million certificates in use across the web. Free SSL/TLS certificates is given to the web server of anyone by Let’s Encrypt.From last December,its project is offering free HTTPS certificates to everyone.
Let’s Encrypt certificates are constructed with the help of cross signature from SSL certificates provider IdenTrust,which makes its free certificates trustworthy and more secure.Let’s Encrypt helps to set up an HTTPS website easily.
According to Let’s Encrypt : “Much more work remains to be done before the Internet is free from insecure protocols, but this is substantial and rapid progress. It is clear that the cost and bureaucracy of obtaining certificates was forcing many websites to continue with the insecure HTTP protocol, long after we’ve known that HTTPS needs to be the default.
We’re very proud to be seeing that change, and helping to create a future in which newly provisioned websites are automatically secure and encrypted.”
In September,First Free HTTPS certificate was signed by Let’s Encrypt and in early November its client server came out.For Internet its time to take meaningful step toward privacy and security.With the help of Let’s Encrypt,team wants HTTPS to be default and as it is so simple to obtain and manage it should be with everyone.
