On Tuesday,Whatsapp’s founder Jan Koum disclosed that all the messages and call which are done through Whatsapp are fully encrypted.Whatsapp is now lot more secure.
All user those who want to secure their messages,calls and photos make sure they are using the latest version of Whatsapp.This new feature of security is now available on window’s phone,blackberry and other feature phone apps.
Once the conversation is fully encrypted,app will send a notification and in chat’s preferences section lock icon will appear.
Whatsapp ties with the OPEN WHISHPER SYSTEM,a specialized group in encrypting messaging platform from last years.The organization which makes the messaging app signal is planning to work with other messaging platform to implement stronger encrytion in future.
From last few years,end-to-end encryption has been in work it become an important issue among tech companies in recent weeks.
On Tuesday,while writing a Whatsapp’s blog Jan Koum noted that encryption is one of the most important tool government,companies and individual have to promote safety and security in the tech era.
Recently there has been a lot of discussion about encrypted services and the work of law enforcement. While we recognize the important work of law enforcement in keeping people safe, efforts to weaken encryption risk exposing people’s information to abuse from cybercriminals, hackers, and rogue states.
Facebook is also wanting increased encryption for Messenger and not only Facebook but also other social media company looking to step up its security feature.Snapchat and Google are also working on increasing the security of messages sent through their platform.
