Microsoft-Xiaomi – Oh! Another big deal in IT-sector. Xiaomi, which recently broke into the top 5 worldwide phone makers agreed to bundling Microsoft Office and Skype apps on it’s android devices including Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi 4s, Redmi Note 3, and Redmi 3.
Microsoft-Xiaomi deal is related to a patent licencing deal, similar to previous deals with Asus, Samsung, Sony and Dell. While the details of deal have not been fully disclosed.
According to The Wall Street Journal :-As part of the deal, China’s Xiaomi will purchase 1,500 patents from Microsoft.
Clearly, Microsoft has keen interest in Chinese market that’s why it tap into xiaomi’s rise in growth. Microsoft’s partnership with xiaomi will also related to powering the Mi cloud service with azure and windows 10 on Mi pad.
